Opening Remarks

Ivan Barrios
President & CEO
World Trade Center Miami

Ivan Barrios is the President/CEO of the World Trade Center Miami. Ivan has served in this role since January 2020.
He most recently worked as Vice President for International Trade Development & TEAM Florida missions at Enterprise Florida, Inc., the state of Florida’s official economic development agency. He managed a statewide team of trade specialists that assisted Florida companies to export their products and services overseas.
Ivan has organized 28 Governor led trade missions to 22 countries from 1999–2015 for three governors. Special projects included 3,000 one-on-one business matchmaking appointments for exporters, managing two hemispheric trade shows, producing and publishing five Florida International Trade and Services Directories, coordinating the activities of the Florida International Bankers Association and creating the Florida Trade Data Center, a first of its kind information hub for Florida exporters.
Ivan holds a position on the Board of Directors of the World Trade Centers Association, where he represents the North American region. His extensive experience includes serving as a board member for the South Florida District Export Council and the Miami-Dade County International Trade Consortium. Ivan is an alumnus of the University of Miami, where he earned his degree in Business Administration.

Ricardo Cabrera is an industry leader, with 15+ years of experience in the commercialization of craft products and spirituous beverages. He is the Founder & CEO of Craft Dummy Distributors – a national distributor for wine, spirits, beer & non-alcoholic beverages. Craft Dummy serves as the end-to-end commerce hub for the Mendoza region of Argentina, the country of Chile and several Colombian multinational brands. Cabrera developed a patented technology that bridged the gap between suppliers and retailers, removing all barriers that traditionally kept retailers from taking on new brands. He produced the largest private label portfolio for Live Nation, award-winning artist, and Disney. Craft Dummy has been coined by peers as the fastest and most cost effective route to enter the US marketplace.

John Ross
President & CEO
Independent Grocers Association (IGA) Inc.

John Ross is responsible for domestic and global operations for IGA, the world’s largest independent supermarket network with nearly 6,500 IGA supermarkets in more than 30 countries worldwide. Previously, he has served as president at Inmar Promotions network; CEO, IPG Shopper Sciences and president of IPG Emerging Media Lab. As well, he has worked in operations, merchandising and marketing; new, traditional and digital media; and analytics and big data for some of the largest brands in the world including Coke, P&G, Schwab, Publix, Walmart, Chrysler, Fiat, Sony, Bose, Google, AOL, among others. Ross is the co-author of the Google Book ZMOT: Zero Moment of Truth, and of the recently-published Fire in the Zoo, a book about shopper influence, marketing mania, retailer chaos, advertising pitfalls and consumer confidence. He has BA, BS and MBA degrees from Tulane University in New Orleans, and serves on a number of retail industry boards, including Food Marketing Institute, National Grocers Association, Consumer Goods Forum, and Inmar.

Deborah B. Stern
Customs and Trade Attorney
Sandler Travis & Rosenberg, P.A.

Deborah Stern is a Member in the Import and Export Practice Group of Sandler, Travis & Rosenberg, P.A., resident in the Miami office. She advises domestic and multinational clients on both U.S. and foreign customs compliance and other trade and concentrates her practice in traditional customs areas, such as tariff classification, seizures and penalties, country of origin marking, valuation, trademark infringement, broker compliance, bonded warehouses, government procurement, trade preference programs and free trade agreements, as well as the World Customs Organization’s Harmonized System. Prior to joining STR, Stern spent five years with U.S. Customs and Border Protection in Washington, D.C., where she authored nationally binding interpretive rulings and agency determinations on tariff classification. Stern holds a B.A. from Florida State University and a J.D. from FSU’s School of Law, graduating with cum laude distinction for both degrees. She previously served in the international law section of the American Bar Association, the international section of the Florida Bar Association, and Customs Lawyers Association.

Jennifer Diaz

Diaz Trade Law

Jennifer Diaz is a Chambers ranked, Board Certified international attorney, author, and public speaker and is the founder of Diaz Trade Law, the woman-led, multi-lingual law firm that specializes in import and export transactions, compliance with U.S. federal government agencies laws and regulations, and enforcement mitigation. Diaz is an expert in working with the many Federal agencies that regulate trade, including the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA), U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB). She is passionate about assisting clients with successfully navigating CBP detentions, seizures, forfeitures, and mitigating of fines and penalties assessed by CBP. Beyond her legal practice, Diaz has been a champion of global organizations including the Organization of Women in International Trade (OWIT). Named to the Super Lawyers List as a “Top International Attorney” since 2017, Diaz is a frequent contributor to Bloomberg Law, the American Bar Association (ABA), and The Florida Bar, authoring numerous articles and chapters of leading books on import, export, customs laws and international trade. She is also the editor of the prominent “Customs & International Trade Law” blog, listed as a top web resource under the United States Library of Congress. Diaz received her Juris Doctor from Nova Southeastern University and Bachelors of Science from the University of Miami. She was a cohort participant in the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Business Program at Miami-Dade College, an internally-recognized top accelerator to advance small businesses and entrepreneurship globally.

Velez previously held leadership roles at Crowd Answers, Zappi, System1 (formerly known as BrainJuicer), and GFK. His ability to analyze complex data sets and uncover patterns has been pivotal in driving actionable insights for clients, resulting in substantial business growth. As VP, he will lead the Regional Business Development efforts throughout the Latin American region, leveraging data and insights to drive innovation and growth to expand the company’s presence in the region.

Andrea Orioli is the Territory Sales Manager for South Florida at Coface. Joining Coface in 2015, she began her career with Coface Chile and over the last few years, she has been managing the team in Florida. Orioli has over 10 years of sales and trade finance experience as well as a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. She has extensive knowledge of the US and Latin American markets, making her an asset in navigating the complexities of international trade.

Bobby Williams

Bobby Williams is a leader of North American Business Information Sales for Coface. Joining Coface in 2022, he has several decades of experience helping global businesses mitigate accounts receivable payment and default risk through the use of predictive business insights and trade credit insurance. He holds both a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a Property & Casualty insurance license.

Marcos Carias
Economist, North America Region
Coface

Marcos Carias is Coface’s economist for North America. He joined Coface in 2019 as a Country Risk Economist covering Southern Europe, where he specialized in studying the behavior of business insolvencies during the pandemic and the energy crisis. He holds a PhD. in financial macroeconomics from the University of Bordeaux and has taught at the Sorbonne School of Management.

Bob Bauer

Association of Food Industries (AFI)

Bob Bauer has served as president of AFI since January 2002. Prior to that, he served as vice president of the organization for nearly six years. In 2005 he was appointed to the Agricultural Technical Advisory Committee for trade in Processed Foods. He was reappointed to that committee in 2008 and again in 2011. AFI is an international trade association which fosters international trade in food products. The association has approximately 1,000 member companies throughout the world. AFI also includes the North American Olive Oil Association and the National Honey Packers and Dealers Association. Before joining AFI, Bauer was a journalist; then moved to trade publications in the transportation field and then to the food industry. For the two years prior to joining AFI, he worked as the editor of the grocery section of Supermarket News, the leading trade publication in the supermarket field. He attended Temple University for two years and then completed his college education and received his bachelor’s degree from Rowan University.

Tim Daniels
Founding Partner
Four Fathers Distillery

Upon graduation from the University of North Florida, Daniels was hired by Bacardi Rum as a research scientist where he found his passion for spirits production. He says he had the perfect job in the pilot plant producing several different types of spirits from raw material to finished product. During the production process, Daniels was able to take a deep dive into the products on a molecular level using state of the art scientific equipment. He retired from Bacardi after 25 years and started his own distillery in 2015 which he called Four Fathers Distillery, in Jacksonville, Florida. Here he produced rum, whiskey, bourbon, vodka and other products for startup distillers to the largest producers in the world. He and his wife also started another distillery in Sedan, Kansas in 2018 called Gunnar’s Bourbon Company making wheat bourbon from the wheat state. Daniels earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry from the University of North Florida.

Oisin Hanrahan

Keychain is a manufacturing platform for the packaged goods industry that is backed by $18 million in venture funding from Lightspeed Venture Partners, BoxGroup, and SV Angel. Before Keychain, he served as CEO of NASDAQ-listed Angi Inc (Angie’s List / HomeAdvisor). Prior to his role as CEO of Angi, Hanrahan served as Chief Product Officer of Angi since 2019, where he led product and technology strategy. He served the US Commerce Secretary on the Digital Economy Board of Advisors in 2016 – 2017, during a period of unprecedented change in the application of technology to the labor force during which he addressed unions, congressmen, and senators, including the US Senate Democratic Caucus. His work has been written about extensively in major media, mostly notably in the Wall Street Journal, New York Times and Forbes and has appeared frequently on CNBC, MSNBC, Fox and Bloomberg. He has given talks at conferences, including Milken Institute and Web Summit, and guest lectured at universities including NYU and Columbia. He is an active angel investor and advisor, with a portfolio of over 50 companies. Hanrahan earned a Master of Business Administration at Harvard Business School, a Masters in Finance from the London School of Economics, and a Business and Economics degree from Trinity College in Dublin.

Before Keychain, Madoff was Senior Vice President of Private Label and Supply Chain at Foxtrot and spent over two decades at Whole Foods where he oversaw the development of the company’s private-label brands, including 365 by Whole Foods Market. He has an extraordinary insight into the packaged food industry–especially private label trends–and is currently focused on the fact that Gen Z are the least loyal shoppers of any generation. At Keychain, he is bringing more private-label brands to the platform and helping them find the right production partners.
